Abstract
The article discusses the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in dentistry, highlighting its potential to enhance diagnostic accuracy, treatment planning, and practice management. While AI can analyze dental images and assist in identifying conditions like dental caries and periodontal issues, it cannot fully replace dentists due to the need for tactile skills, emotional intelligence, and complex clinical judgment. The future of dentistry is envisioned as a collaborative effort where AI acts as a "clinical co-pilot," improving efficiency and patient care while the dentist remains essential for empathetic and adaptable patient interactions. Additionally, AI may help expand access to dental care, particularly in underserved communities, though ethical considerations regarding patient data usage are emphasized.
