Abstract

The article focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) glasses, white noise, and basic behavioral management techniques in reducing dental anxiety among children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The study found no significant differences in anxiety levels measured by the Faces Image Scale (FIS), suggesting that this tool may not adequately capture anxiety in children with ADHD, who might express distress behaviorally rather than verbally. Limitations include a small sample size of 48 children and a short study duration, which restrict the ability to assess long-term effects and generalize findings. The authors recommend future research with larger, more diverse samples, multimodal anxiety assessments, integration of additional therapeutic approaches, and physiological or qualitative measures to better understand and address dental anxiety in this population.
