Abstract
This article focuses on Afro Celt Sound System (ACSS), a globally recognized band known for blending contemporary dance music with West African, Gaelic Irish, and South Asian influences. Following the death of founder Simon Emmerson in 2023, original members Johnny Kalsi and N'Faly Kouyaté have led the release of OVA, the band's eighth studio album and Emmerson's final work, which reflects his personal journey and themes of nature, cultural fusion, and social issues such as climate change and immigration. The album features collaborations with longtime members and guest musicians, combining organic and electronic sounds to continue ACSS's legacy of cross-cultural musical innovation. OVA symbolizes creation and regeneration, embodying the band's mission to bridge cultures through music.
