Abstract

Tensions between Egypt and Israel have escalated over control of the Rafah border crossing. Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry accused Israel of distorting facts and being responsible for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Israel, on the other hand, blamed Egypt for preventing aid delivery through the crossing. The International Court of Justice ordered Israel to halt military operations in Rafah and keep the Rafah crossing open. Egypt condemned Israeli airstrikes on a camp for displaced Palestinians in Rafah and called for an immediate cessation of military operations. [Extracted from the article]
