Abstract
This article examines the relationship between race and transitional justice, focusing on the challenges of addressing historical injustices such as slavery and apartheid. It discusses three recent works that explore this topic through the lenses of reparations and apology. The article emphasizes the need to understand the ongoing effects of past harms and the responsibility to address racial subordination. It also highlights the limitations of international legal tools and the importance of involving victim communities in the process of seeking redress.
