Abstract
Meanwhile, Blanc provides ample evidence that western encroachment on the rights of Africans reduces biodiversity, since "colonization and the natural environment are incompatible" (p. 28). Moreover, Blanc describes organizations such as UNESCO and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) as "international" rather than western, despite conceding that the former adjective conceals their colonial history (p. 42). I was thrilled to review a book uncovering green colonialism and exploring how environmental discourses and policies can be used as tools of dispossession. [Extracted from the article]
