Abstract

This article is a letter to the editor in response to a recent paper on the genetic analysis of ancient Patagonians. The authors respectfully disagree with the conclusions of the previous study, specifically regarding the genetic connections with other South American regions. They argue that the phylogenetic analysis does not support the claimed affiliations with Peruvian populations and propose an alternative explanation for the genetic patterns observed. The authors also express their preference for using median-joining networks in phylogenetic analysis. [Extracted from the article]
