Abstract

The article examines ocular proof and the transformation of Satan into an Angel of light from the bible verse II Corinthians 11.14 in some of the plays by William Shakespeare. Topics include the dramatic instances of ocular violence in Shakespeare's plays such as "King Lear" "Macbeth" and "King John," several allusions of II Corinthians 11.14 cited in different plays, and the apparentness of the salience of the bible verse in Shakespeare's biblical imagination.
