Abstract
"Muppets in Moscow" is a firsthand account by Natasha Lance Rogoff of the creation of the Russian adaptation of Sesame Street, called Ulitsa Sezam. The book explores the challenges faced by the production, including political corruption, assassination attempts, and resistance to westernization. It also delves into the cultural differences surrounding puppetry between Russia and the United States. The narrative includes details about the design process for the Russian Muppet characters and the process of re-dubbing dialogue from the American Sesame Street into Russian. Overall, "Muppets in Moscow" provides an informative and entertaining look at the development of Sesame Street's international co-productions. [Extracted from the article]
