Abstract
This article reviews a 198-minute revival of David McVicker's 2006 production of Mozart's opera *The Marriage of Figaro*, conducted by Antonio Pappano with a predominantly Italian cast. The production maintains much of the original staging with some notable changes, such as the removal of a scene where the Count strikes the Countess, aligning more closely with the original text. The cast, including Riccardo Fassi as Figaro and Giulia Semenzato as Susanna, is praised for strong performances and natural interactions, while Pappano's conducting is described as supportive and cohesive. The review highlights the production's attention to detail and the effective use of native Italian singers to enhance the opera's urgency and authenticity.
