Abstract
The article focuses on Tuckey Design Studio's Rammed Earth House in Wiltshire, which showcases the use of unstabilised rammed earth as a primary building material. Designed for a retired couple, the house features an H-shaped layout with five bedrooms, various recreational spaces, and gardens, all constructed to meet the clients' desire for strong eco-credentials. The project, which began in 2021 and is notable for its innovative use of local materials, aims to demonstrate the viability of unstabilised rammed earth construction in the UK, despite challenges in achieving Passivhaus certification due to its size and design complexities. The house serves as a potential model for future applications of this sustainable building method. [Extracted from the article]
