Abstract
The article from Sky & Telescope discusses the WISE/NEOWISE mission, which provided a unique view of the infrared sky from 2009 to 2024. The mission aimed to map the entire sky in infrared wavelengths, revealing cool stars, luminous galaxies, and Earth-approaching asteroids. NEOWISE, an extension of the mission, focused on discovering new asteroids and comets, including the real Comet NEOWISE in 2020. The mission ended in 2024, but its data continues to be used for research, leading to the development of the NEO Surveyor telescope to further study near-Earth objects. [Extracted from the article]
