Abstract
The article focuses on recent developments in satellite communications and launch activities in 2026. Viasat launched ViaSat-3 F3, a high-capacity satellite designed to deliver over 1 Terabit per second of throughput across the Asia-Pacific region, enhancing bandwidth flexibility for commercial mobility and defense customers. Arianespace successfully launched 32 Amazon Leo satellites aboard the Ariane 6 rocket, marking the second of 18 planned launches for Amazon's low Earth orbit (LEO) internet constellation aimed at expanding connectivity to underserved areas. AST SpaceMobile reported the loss of its BlueBird 7 satellite due to a lower-than-planned orbit from a New Glenn launch anomaly but plans to continue its LEO constellation deployment with upcoming satellites.
