Abstract

The article discusses the concept of "degrowth" and challenges the belief that infinite economic growth is sustainable. It highlights three myths about sustainable growth: the idea of an energy transition, the belief that energy efficiency will solve climate change, and the notion that innovation will save us. The article argues that these myths overlook the interconnectedness of economic growth and emissions and fail to address the fundamental challenges of growth. It suggests that leaders need to shift their thinking and prioritize social and ecological well-being over profits, reconfigure unsustainable business models, and embed sustainability throughout their organizations.
