Abstract

The article focuses on the potential future impacts of near-Earth objects (NEOs), specifically asteroids and comets, on Earth as described both scientifically and biblically. Near-Earth asteroids (NEAs) are defined as asteroids with orbits intersecting or approaching Earth’s orbit, some of which are classified as potentially hazardous asteroids (PHAs). The article correlates two future NEO impact events described in the biblical book of Revelation—one involving a large asteroid causing oceanic tsunamis and another involving a comet named Wormwood contaminating freshwater sources—with scientific data on asteroid sizes, impact effects, and cometary chemical compositions. These events are presented as divine judgments occurring during the seven trumpet judgments, with associated environmental consequences such as fires, tsunamis, and water poisoning. The timing of these impacts is unspecified but linked to eschatological themes of the “last times.”
