Abstract
The article focuses on the decarbonization of the aviation sector to achieve climate goals and reviews airspace rights. Topics discussed include climate impact of aviation's greenhouse gas emissions, challenges to reducing carbon dioxide emissions for long-distance air travel such as technological limits of electrified aircraft and increased demand for air travel, and proposed measures to address these challenges like aviation ticket taxes, emissions-based tax and alternative modes of travel.
