Abstract
Gonkoken isn't like other known duck-billed dinosaurs from South America nor the former supercontinent of Gondwana, which included South America, A ntarctica, Africa, Australia and India. News PALEONTOLOGY Fossils from the southern tip of Chile are adding a wrinkle to researchers' understanding of how duck-billed dinosaurs conquered the Cretaceous world. Finding a non-hadrosaurid duck-billed dinosaur like Gonkoken in South America is "somewhat unexpected", says David Evans, a vertebrate paleontologist at the University of Toronto who wasn't involved in the research.
