Abstract
According to a report released this week, the tornadoes that occurred in late April in the Great Plains caused damage to approximately 7,000 homes and businesses, with a total reconstruction cost of $2.1 billion. The storms were a result of a strong, low-pressure system that created the necessary conditions for multiple violent supercells, leading to tornadoes in Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Iowa. The National Weather Service recorded a total of 127 tornado reports during this time period, including several significant tornadoes. The report estimates that a total of 7,229 residential properties were damaged across the three states, with a combined reconstruction cost of $2.1 billion. [Extracted from the article]
