Abstract
This article reviews the 2024 Criterion Collection Blu-ray release of Éric Rohmer’s four-film series centered on the seasons: *A Tale of Springtime* (1990), *A Tale of Winter* (1992), *A Tale of Summer* (1996), and *A Tale of Autumn* (1998). The films, made toward the end of Rohmer’s career, explore love and human relationships through understated storytelling that integrates the natural environment and seasonal atmospheres as key narrative elements. Each film features distinct thematic and stylistic qualities, from the introspective search for love in *Winter* to the autobiographical conversational style of *Summer*. The collection also includes two early short films by Rohmer and supplementary radio interviews that provide insight into his creative process.
