Abstract
States in the Great Plains region of the US are preparing for severe thunderstorms, including the possibility of tornadoes and hail. The areas at risk include parts of Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri on Friday, and then Oklahoma and Texas on Saturday. A tornado caused significant damage in suburban Omaha, Nebraska. Additionally, there are fire weather warnings in eastern New Mexico, West Texas, and parts of Colorado, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
