Abstract
This article examines the multifaceted significance of weather in contemporary life, emphasizing its role beyond mere scientific measurement to include cultural, sensory, and Indigenous perspectives. It highlights how weather shapes human experience through embodied practices, environmental literature, and artistic expression, while also addressing urgent issues related to climate change, environmental racism, and socio-political dynamics. The discussion includes interdisciplinary collaborations between scientists and artists, Indigenous epistemologies such as the Sugpiaq worldview, and innovative meteorological art that challenges conventional understandings of atmosphere and climate. By exploring diverse modalities of knowing and feeling the weather, the article situates it as a dynamic, affective force deeply entangled with ecological and social systems.
