Abstract

CFPB Director Rohit Chopra recently spoke at a Brookings Institution event, discussing the Bureau's consideration of new guidance on the application of the Electronic Fund Transfer Act to digital currencies and credit card rewards points. He expressed concern about credit card issuers misrepresenting the availability or usability of rewards points. Director Chopra also mentioned the Bureau's plans to propose a rule on personal financial data rights under the Dodd-Frank Act.
