Abstract
During the Holi festivities in Delhi, the Delhi Police issued over 800 fines for driving under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, 1,524 fines were issued to individuals riding two-wheelers without helmets. The police also prosecuted 1,241 individuals for various other offenses such as tinted glass, triple riding, and driving without seat belts. However, there was a decrease in road accidents compared to the previous year, which the police attribute to their strict enforcement and deterrent effect. The Delhi Traffic Police deployed extra personnel equipped with breathalysers to conduct checks on motorists throughout the day. [Extracted from the article]
