Abstract
The article focuses on a study examining the relationship between alcohol consumption per capita (APC) and suicide mortality rates. Conducted by researchers at the University of Toronto, the systematic review and meta-analysis included 13 studies and found that a 1-liter increase in APC was associated with a 3.59% increase in suicide mortality rates at the population level, with no significant differences observed between sexes. The findings suggest that APC could be an important target for national suicide prevention strategies. The research emphasizes the need for further exploration of this association to inform public health initiatives. [Extracted from the article]
