Abstract

The Oregon Historical Quarterly (OHQ) staff and Editorial Advisory Board acknowledge and honor the perspectives, knowledge, and histories of Indigenous peoples in Oregon. They recognize the ongoing sovereignty of federally recognized tribes in Oregon and emphasize the interconnectedness between the land, plants, animals, and people. OHQ, published by the Oregon Historical Society, is committed to elevating Native perspectives, respecting tribal protocol, and demonstrating recognition of tribal sovereignty through various practices and policies. They actively seek feedback from Indigenous communities and have specific policies in place to ensure respect for Indigenous knowledge and perspectives in their publications, leadership, collections, exhibitions, and educational materials.
