Abstract

This article discusses how artificial intelligence (AI) can be integrated into Lean Six Sigma, a methodology for improving processes in manufacturing and service operations. AI tools, such as generative AI, can perform tasks faster and more cost-effectively than humans alone. AI can be used in all stages of the improvement process, including mapping processes, measuring performance, analyzing data, identifying improvements, and monitoring outcomes. However, the increasing use of AI in process improvement presents challenges, such as the need for new competencies and managing organizational change. Leaders must navigate these issues to fully realize the potential of AI in improving processes. [Extracted from the article]
