Abstract

American consumers are changing their shopping habits this holiday season, according to the CEO of Signet Jewelers Ltd., the owner of Kay Jewelers, Zales, and Jared. Normally, female shoppers would start their holiday shopping in September and finish by Thanksgiving, but this year they are waiting until Black Friday to find the best deals. On the other hand, male shoppers typically wait until the 10 days before Christmas to purchase jewelry, and they will be looking for better deals this year due to discounts from smaller jewelers. Signet is also expecting a pickup in engagements this quarter, as there has been a lull in weddings after a surge in 2022. [Extracted from the article]
