Abstract
The article focuses on the surge in tribal cultural property protection, driven by a global "decolonization" movement seeking to restore cultural identities and political influence to Indigenous Peoples. It highlights the significance of protecting cultural property, including tangible, intangible and real aspects, and discusses rise in tribal cultural property laws and programs in response to cultural appropriation and the inadequacy of U.S. law in safeguarding Indigenous cultural property.
