Abstract

This article focuses on addressing unemployment in Brazil by proposing a conceptual model to better align university educational programs with the hard skills demanded by the labor market. Through a systematic literature review, the study identifies a gap in existing research regarding the use of job openings as a data source for defining required hard skills and presents a two-stage model involving web scraping of job listings and the development of a dashboard linking job clusters with nearby universities. The model aims to support universities in curriculum adjustment, new course planning, short-term training, community engagement, and partnerships with businesses to enhance graduate employability. While tailored to the Brazilian context, the model is theoretical and has not yet been implemented, with limitations including reliance on online job postings and the broader role of universities beyond hard skills development.
