Abstract
This article focuses on the feasibility of adapting the Youth Engagement and Action for Health! (YEAH!) youth advocacy program to promote healthy snacking behaviors among adolescents in urban corner stores in New York City. Conducted with 36 adolescents aged 12–18 from a Boys and Girls Club, the 12-session program demonstrated high retention (94.74%), attendance (93.52%), fidelity (98.5%), engagement (4.97/5), and satisfaction (4/5). Qualitative findings indicated that participants gained nutrition knowledge, enjoyed advocacy activities, improved snacking behaviors, and valued social interaction. The study concludes that youth advocacy is a feasible and acceptable approach to engage urban adolescents in promoting healthier snacking, recommending future research to assess the program's efficacy and effectiveness.
