Abstract

The article focuses on a study that proposes social climate as a fifth core domain of physical literacy (PL) to enhance youth physical activity (PA) engagement. Conducted with 771 youth aged 9-14 in underserved communities, the research utilized psychological network analysis to examine the interconnectedness of motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge, and social climate. Findings indicate that these domains are positively linked, with a notable feedback loop between social climate, knowledge, and motivation. The study emphasizes the importance of motivational regulation and social support in developing effective PA interventions for youth. [Extracted from the article]
