Abstract
The article focuses on the rapid expansion and increasing complexity of state-funded private school choice programs in the United States, including education savings accounts (ESAs), vouchers, tax-credit scholarships, and direct tax credits. Republican-led states have collectively invested billions of dollars to subsidize private education, with Florida, Arizona, and Ohio leading in enrollment and funding. These programs raise debates about eligibility, religious school participation, and equity, while also prompting legal challenges and concerns about public school enrollment declines and budget impacts. A new federal tax credit program, starting next year with participation from 29 states, is expected to further influence the private school choice landscape. [Extracted from the article]
