Abstract

The article focuses on the impact of parental unemployment on children's well-being, highlighting it as a significant risk factor for adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Parental unemployment leads to financial strain, which can cause material deprivation, mental health challenges, and limited access to basic needs, thereby increasing children's vulnerability to ACEs. It also negatively affects children's education by restricting access to resources and opportunities, and contributes to social isolation, which can result in social exclusion and peer difficulties. The article emphasizes the need for comprehensive support systems—including financial aid, emotional support, educational resources, and social integration programs—to mitigate these risks and promote children's resilience.
