Abstract

The article critiques Inclusive Access (IA) textbook-purchasing model for Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) that limits student ownership, inflates costs, and exploits data. Topics include how IA works compared to eBooks and rentals, publishers' pricing tactics and automatic billing to push IA options, and the mining of student usage data that raises data sovereignty and privacy concerns, urging tribal colleges to consider open educational resources and protective data laws.
