Abstract

The article focuses on the development of the Veterinary Online Collection (VOC), an international e-learning platform created by veterinary faculties at Utrecht University, University of Copenhagen, and University of Helsinki in response to the COVID-19 pandemic's impact on veterinary education. Funded by an Erasmus+ grant, the VOC enables European veterinary educators to share and access e-learning materials, supported by a dedicated website, a Teachers' Forum, and guidelines addressing copyright and privacy issues. Despite technical, legal, and organizational challenges—such as cross-border digital access and copyright complexities—the project successfully established a functioning repository with contributions from 61 educators across 17 countries by early 2023. The VOC aims to foster ongoing collaboration, reduce individual workload in producing online materials, and better prepare veterinary education for future disruptions.
