Abstract
This conceptual article explores the intersection between international exchange and counselor identity through the author's Fulbright Specialist experiences in Luanda, Angola, and Palermo, Italy. The manuscript situates these engagements within global counseling frameworks, emphasizing the transformative potential of cultural immersion, bilingual competence, and the wellness paradigm in counselor education. Drawing on contemporary scholarship in multicultural counseling, internationalization, and professional identity formation, the article examines key observations from both contexts and proposes a conceptual model for globally informed counseling practice. Implications for counselor education, clinical practice, and professional development are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
