Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive overview of recent research on educational leadership and management across diverse global contexts. It highlights key themes such as accountability in publicly funded education, the politicisation of school inspections in England by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted), and the growing influence of artificial intelligence on educational leadership. Several studies focus on leadership practices in China’s government and international schools, while others examine leadership models related to equity, instructional leadership, and teacher professional development in countries including Chile, Israel, Turkey, Nigeria, South Africa, Pakistan, Kuwait, Finland, Romania, and Turkey. The article underscores evolving leadership approaches—such as caring, distributed, and servant leadership—and their impacts on teacher engagement, school climate, and educational outcomes.
