Abstract
The article critically examines the 2011 book *Origins: Christian Perspectives on Creation, Evolution, and Intelligent Design* by Deborah and Loren Haarsma, focusing on its attempt to reconcile Christian faith with evolutionary science through theistic evolution. It highlights concerns that the book's allegorical interpretation of Genesis and its subordination of Biblical authority to scientific consensus undermine traditional Christian doctrines, particularly the historicity of Adam and the foundation of salvation history. The article argues that this approach shifts epistemological authority from divine revelation to empirical science, fostering scientism and doctrinal instability. Additionally, it notes that *Origins* relies on outdated evolutionary arguments, such as the concept of "junk DNA," which recent genetic research has challenged, further complicating the integration of theology with evolving scientific theories.
