Abstract
The article focuses on Jennifer Norrell's efforts to expand access to college-level coursework for all students in East Aurora School District, regardless of their background. Topics include the significant expansion of Advanced Placement courses to increase participation, structural changes such as block scheduling and pre-Advanced Placement classes to better prepare students, and the challenge of shifting long-held perceptions about which students are capable of rigorous academic work.
