4 Experiments to Encourage Employees' Career Progress.

Abstract

This article discusses four experiments conducted by 15 organizations with over 7,000 employees to encourage career progression. The experiments aimed to move away from a linear approach to career development and explore alternative ways for employees to advance. The experiments included prioritizing transferable talents and a willingness to learn in job applications, sharing stories of non-linear career paths, offering career safaris to explore different roles, and implementing mentoring programs focused on internal moves. The results showed increased internal applications, shifts in perception of career success, positive impacts on growth and career opportunities, and increased employee confidence in exploring new opportunities.
