Abstract

This article focuses on the implementation and evaluation of project-based learning (PBL) in Israeli kindergartens from the perspective of experienced kindergarten managers. The study, based on qualitative interviews with sixteen managers, found that PBL is applied in diverse, multidisciplinary projects that vary in duration and often culminate in a final product presented to an audience. Kindergarten managers engage in ongoing formative assessment and reflective practices, emphasizing the development of 21st-century skills such as creativity, collaboration, initiative, and responsibility among young learners. The findings suggest that PBL is well integrated into Israeli kindergartens, contributing significantly to meaningful learning and learner autonomy, although formal documentation of assessment is limited.
