Abstract

Edward J. Blum, a financial adviser and advocate against "racial gerrymandering," has been successful in limiting the federal government's ability to require states to use race in divvying up districts. He then turned his attention to challenging affirmative action policies in higher education, culminating in the Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard case. Blum's organization, Students for Fair Admissions, is now monitoring colleges for any attempts to circumvent the ruling. Blum also plans to expand his fight against racial discrimination to other areas, such as corporations, law firms, and healthcare institutions. [Extracted from the article]
