Abstract
This article discusses the impact of women on decision-making in corporate boardrooms. The authors conducted in-depth interviews with women and men directors who have served on publicly traded company boards. The study found that women directors come to board meetings well-prepared and focused on accountability, asking questions that shape decisions. Women also behave in ways that challenge traditional norms, asking in-depth questions and seeking to get things on the table. Their presence improves the quality of discussions, de-politicizes dialogue, and enables more nuanced and deeper boardroom discussions. The study suggests that the presence of women may improve corporate governance and decision-making. [Extracted from the article]
