Abstract
The article focuses on the increasing importance of assessment in education, particularly in validating the skills and competencies of graduates for workforce readiness. It highlights the rise of competency-based education (CBE) programs, which prioritize student learning and mastery of competencies through authentic assessments rather than time spent in class. The Competency-Based Education Network (C-BEN) has established the Hallmark Practices in Assessment, which includes ten key practices to ensure quality assessments. These practices aim to provide a framework for institutions to design effective assessments that validate learning outcomes and meet employer expectations. [Extracted from the article]
