Abstract
The article highlights how homeschooling caregivers in South Carolina intentionally support early literacy development by setting clear goals, personalizing instruction, and continuously reflecting on both teaching and student progress. Topics include goal-setting for emergent readers, tailoring instruction to individual strengths and needs, monitoring and adjusting teaching strategies, and fostering a lifelong love of reading.
