Abstract
A recent study conducted by the University of Otago in New Zealand explores the impact of cross-cultural code-switching on international medical graduates (IMGs) in the country. The research found that IMGs face psychological challenges related to authenticity, competence, and resentment when navigating professional and cultural differences. The study suggests that providing support, such as orientation programs and cultural mentors, can help address these challenges and encourage IMGs to continue practicing in New Zealand. The findings highlight the importance of understanding and supporting the unique experiences of IMGs in order to improve their retention in the healthcare system. [Extracted from the article]
