Abstract
This article focuses on a study examining job satisfaction (JS) and its impact on job performance (JP) among academic laboratory technical assistants (ALTAs) at Mizan Tepi University (MTU) in Southwest Ethiopia. The research identified compensation and benefits, work environment, professional development, work-life balance, and job recognition as key factors influencing JS, which in turn positively correlated with JP. The study used quantitative and qualitative methods, revealing challenges such as limited resources and inequitable recognition. Findings suggest that improving these factors through supportive leadership and equitable policies could enhance both satisfaction and performance, offering insights relevant to similar low-resource higher education settings.
