This article discusses the potential of generative AI (GenAI) to accelerate employee learning and development. Traditional learning methods often fail to keep up with rapidly evolving skill requirements, but GenAI offers personalized learning pathways, continuous content evolution, immersive simulation scenarios, addressing skill gaps, and mentorship and feedback. However, there are challenges to consider, such as data privacy, potential errors or biases in AI outputs, and the need for ethical considerations and AI governance.
