Abstract
This article focuses on research conducted at Hunan First Normal University in Changsha, People's Republic of China, examining the relationships among social-emotional competence, learning engagement, teacher-student relationships, and academic achievement in pre-service teachers. Using Structural Equation Modeling, the study found that dimensions of social-emotional competence—specifically collective relationships and responsible decision-making—along with teacher-student relationships, significantly influence learning engagement and academic success. Funded by the Hunan Provincial Philosophy and Social Sciences Foundation, the research offers recommendations to enhance pre-service teachers' engagement and learning outcomes.
