Abstract

The article focuses on the growing significance of security in the context of climate change and recent global crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian attack on Ukraine. It highlights how extreme weather events linked to climate change—including forest fires, severe flooding, and heat waves—pose increasing threats to human and national security. The article argues that climate change should be addressed as a cross-government policy issue that impacts the security of entire societies, extending beyond traditional environmental or sectoral policies.
